The Wild Bird Care Centre does not receive funding from any level of government and could not operate without the hard work of our amazing volunteers and generous contributions from rescuers, visitors and other caring individuals like yourself.

You can help the Centre through volunteering, donating, becoming a member, participating in our “Sponsor a Bird’s Recovery Program” and by bringing in some of the items we utilize most. The Centre also accepts co-op students from high schools, colleges and universities.

Thank you so much for supporting our cause and aiding in the treatment, rehabilitation and care of the many injured, ill or orphaned wild birds that we help each year.

Being a Registered Charitable Business (#89340 1380 RR0002), official tax receipts are issued for any donation of $20.00 or greater.

Please select the method and program that best suits you.

Volunteer

The Centre could not exist without its dedicated team of volunteers and we thank you for your interest in helping. All volunteers MUST be sixteen years of age or older, be up to date with their tetanus shot and have a reliable method of transportation (the nearest OC Transpo stop is about a twenty-minute walk). A typical volunteer position entails cleaning rooms and cages, feeding, washing dishes, doing laundry and performing other general duties. We ask all volunteers to commit four hours of their time on the same day every week. If you haven’t already, we would encourage you to visit the Centre to make sure that it is the right environment for you.

If you are interested in volunteering your time at the Centre, please fill out the Volunteer Application form by clicking “Volunteer Now” or visit us at the Centre. If a volunteer position becomes available and your application is selected you will be contacted by the Volunteer Coordinator.

If you are interested in a co-op or work placement, please contact the Volunteer Coordinator at (613) 828-2849 or by email at mojo [at] wildbirdcarecentre [dot] org (mojo@wildbirdcarecentre.org.)
